Hey, a suggestion for Turkey: [1] (link to film with English subtitles)

Ask any Turk, and they'll tell you that it's a true classic (even though some are embarassed by it). Plus it's one of the funniest films you'll ever see. :D Here's more information about it. Esn 01:27, 6 April 2007 (CEST)

Thanks dude, I had actually looked for that movie before but not found it. Now I can paint another part of the world green! Philip 07:26, 6 April 2007 (CEST)

Say, do short films count? Even if not, you might enjoy this beautiful film from Belarus (150mb). I created subtitles for it about a week ago, which can be found over here. Although it's a children's film, it's a very poetic one and I think it's a whole lot smarter than most adult films. Don't worry if you find it to be rather cryptic the first time around. :) Here's its entry at animator.ru: [2] Esn 08:27, 11 April 2007 (CEST)

I don't really have any rules for what counts and not. Thanks for the tip! Philip 18:52, 13 April 2007 (CEST)
I put it up on Google Video, so it would be easier to watch. Here it is. The subtitles should be uploaded in a couple of hours. It's better to view the videos in "original size", by the way, which you can do by clicking on the triangle on the video window and selecting the option. Also, check out my livejournal blog to see what I have been translating over the past month. :) The Cat Who Walked by Herself one of the most impressively-directed films I've ever seen, and it's incredibly obscure (despite being fairly recent; I think it just picked a bad time to come out, since in 1988 people were worrying about other things). Haven't checked my wiki in a while, didn't notice your posting. Thanks for the link(s), I'll be sure to watch it! Philip 19:49, 2 June 2007 (CEST)

Interesting concept, have you considered nations in a single country? Belgium got two nation, each with it's classics and new hits. Canada got french, english, even inuit films. And I wonder if you'll find a movie for each african country. So far I've seen films from Egypt, South africa, Algeria and Senegal. There's a lot of countries I don't even know if they even made a movie. Like... Djibouti ?! And, also, have you considered countries that doesn't exist anymore? (that existed at least when cinema existed). I know you can find movies from Zaire and Siam.
